I think it’s clear to anyone who even half pays attention to my creative journey that sewing and fabric play absolutely fills me with joy. There’s just something special about it that ticks all of my right brain – left brain needs and brings me to a place of presence that few things can in this noisy, technologically driven world that has basically given all of us super short attention spans. So, I legit can’t help wanting to spread this joy of sewing to everyone that I know. And more often than not, I’m told that he/she doesn’t even know how to sew a button. And as the general barrier-remover than I am, I decided to make a YouTube tutorial on how to sew a button by hand.
Honestly, regardless of whether this is the catalyst that turns you into the next great sew-master, this is a skill that everyone should be able to do. And who knows? Maybe you’ll be a hero when a button falls off the shirt of someone you know and they say that they don’t even know how to sew on a button.
